Once the Head Chieftan of Galle’s country residence and formerly part of the RAF’s headquarters during WW2, the Wallawwa is now a retreat for tired and weary travelers, serving as the perfect staging post for a trip around Sri Lanka. The Wallawwa is a 30-minute drive from the beaches and fish markets of Negombo. It is also a 30-minute drive from Muthurajawela Wetlands. Colombo City is an hour’s drive away.
