Village Safari

A chance to experience the true village life in Sri Lanka. You have the option of choosing a bullock cart or elephant back for this tour. You will be strolling through faddy fields and water streams with full of wilderness. Your experience begins from the village called Ehelagala. It is adjacent to the great Sigiriya rock. You can ride the Bullock Cart in gravel path which will become dusty with red soil. You will see many animals and birds in the jungle in the distance and the seemingly endless expense of green fill with wilderness. Meander along the grassy bank of the picturesque Ehelegala for a truly satisfying birding experience. BOAT TOURS – Reservoir is a stunning mixture of the village after the cart ride. You will get on a canoe boat ride in the reservoir which will float you through endless water lily and lotus infested waters. VILLAGE Life – You will get a hint of the pleasure of village life with a visit to a welcoming house in the village. You will join the farmer’s wife to cook a meal for the farmer whose returning home from a long day at the farm. For your hard work you will be paid by a simple home-cooked meal and village drink for free of charge. Do not forget to climb onto a tree house made by farmers to protect from their cultivation from the elephants.
